SCHIMBAREA LA FATA CHURCH

 

Built around 1538, the parish church draws attention by archaic appearance to every passerby, with dark patina wood walls, but also by the elegance of a full line profile without any jarring element. The church is among those monuments which is totaled outstanding by the construction quality, the existence of a long historical and artistic practically priceless value. From the architectural point of view, the church can be qualified without reservation as one of the most successful achievements of folk architecture in wood. The entire building made of thick beams and planks of fir and oak on stone foundation reveals that a handful of virtuoso fixed every wall with precision, skill and imagination. This is the type of church with simple plan shaped vessel without side and pentagonal altar the bell being in close proximity to the south. Shingle roof construction in full dress uniform manner without stress on the outside than the present altar.
