The Art Museum

At: 1st Liberty Square is found the Art Museum of Piatra Neamt, which was founded in 1980 and is based on the Art Collection - Piatra Neamt (opened in 1964). The museum operates in a building built in 1930 by the Italians Carol Zani and Vincenzo Puschiasis, which have harmoniously integrated it into a historic area dominated by the foundations of Stefan cel Mare. The museum values the entire artistic heritage created by Romanian artists at the end of Nineteenth century and the beginning of the Twentieth century, presenting a panoramic view on the evolution of visual arts (painting, graphics, sculpture, and tapestry). With the generic national specificity and interference with European values this permanent exhibition highlights works of Romanian artists in one way or another that were related to the Neamt County.
